Tidfore’s First Mother Vessel of Offshore Lightering Platform

On May 28th, 2013, Tidfore Heavy Industry, Hong Kong Wanxin (WEG) and shipyard representatives gathered to celebrate the smooth docking for retrofiting of the first "Handling Ship for Large Offshore Lightering Platform ".
Last October, Tidfore Heavy Industry and Hong Kong Wanxin signed the entrusted retrofit contract of the "Handling Ship for Large Offshore Lightering Platform ". The total contract amount exceeded RMB1 billion. After signing the contract, Tidfore Heavy Industry and Hong Kong Wanxin communicated for several months. Through sufficient demonstration, in May 2014, the final retrofit proposal was determined, and the mother ship was delivered to Tidfore Heavy Industry on May 28th. The retrofit period will last for 10 to 12 months. It is expected to be officially delivered for operation in July next year.
The lightering platform is one of the lightering platforms in the contract and the first "Handling Machine for Large Offshore Lightering Platform " retrofited by Tidfore Heavy Industry. Its mother ship is 280 meters long and 46 meters wide. It can carrying load of 160,000 tons. After completion of the retrofit, it can transfer 4,000-5,000 tons of bulk material per hour .
The "Handling Machine for the Large Offshore Lightering Platform " developed by Tidfore Heavy Industry is a true offshore mobile terminal. It has self-propelled, self-control and warehousing functions. Without changing the berth capacity of the original wharf or increasing the cost of offshore transport, the bulk material on a big ship can be transferred to small ships to enter the harbor, and the bulk material on the small ships can be transferred to the big ship for departure. It can not only save a lot of logistics costs effectively, but also avoid damage and pollution of natural environment along the coast caused by the construction of large deepwater port.
Tidfore Heavy Industry is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tidfore Heavy Equipment Group, and a professional manufacturer of bulk material handling and transportation equipments and marine engineering equipments. It can design and manufacture the world's most advanced offshore lightering platform at present. (Written by Sue Xinpei, photo by Qin Nianchang)
